###  Message volume

 The more you send, the more you save.

 Ongoing chats benefit from session pricing, lowering overall spend.

###  Advanced features

 Add chatbots, automation, and CRM integration for extra value.

## RCS vs SMS

SMS is the trusted classic, delivering anywhere at any time. But when your goal is more than reach, RCS is the better choice. It takes the same reliability and makes it richer with images, videos, buttons, verified branding, and advanced analytics.

<accordion-item title="What influences RCS pricing?">
Destination, carrier, message type, volume, and use of advanced features. You can learn more about RCS features here.
</accordion-item>
<accordion-item title="Is RCS more expensive than SMS?">
RCS pricing varies by market and carrier. RCS Basic is often priced similarly to SMS, while RCS Single can be around 20–30% higher. RCS Conversational is usually about twice the price of SMS but includes a 24-hour session window for unlimited exchanges, making it cost-effective for two-way conversations.Some carriers price RCS as a premium product because of features like verified branded senders, delivery receipts, interactive media, and integrations with Google Wallet or Calendar, while others keep it lower to drive adoption. Although the cost per message may be higher, richer features and stronger engagement usually mean fewer messages are needed to achieve the same results. For example, Digitaleo matched SMS campaign performance while sending three times fewer RCS messages.

<accordion-item title="Can I mix RCS with other channels?">
Yes. Infobip automatically routes across RCS, SMS, WhatsApp, and more to give you the best reach and efficiency. Many businesses see even stronger results when combining channels. For example, BankBazaar achieved a 130% higher click-through rate with RCS as part of their channel mix.
</accordion-item>
<accordion-item title="Is RCS charged per message sent?">
No — RCS is charged only for messages successfully delivered to the end user’s device.

If a message can’t be delivered (for example, the user’s device doesn’t support RCS or doesn't have Wifi/mobile data on), it won’t be billed.

However, by using Infobip’s omnichannel solutions, you can automatically failover messages to other channels, such as SMS, MMS or OTTs to maintain a high deliverability rate and ensure your message always reaches the customer.
