MANILA, Philippines, 13 Oct 2026 – Infobip, a global cloud communications platform, has expanded its collaboration with Maxicare Group, the Philippines' leading health and insurance solutions provider, and Rakuten Viber to launch Viber Business Calls (VBC). The platform gives Maxicare's almost 2 million members additional ways to directly call medical support agents straight from the Viber app. 

The Philippines faces several healthcare challenges. Some have had to take leave from work for a simple check-up or clarification on lab and diagnostic test results. While hotlines are available, some find it easier to communicate through digital platforms like Viber.  

Most people in the Philippines use Viber for daily messaging, which makes the app already open on a member's phone the most dependable starting point for a conversation about their health. Integrated by Infobip, Viber Business Calls gives Maxicare an additional customer touchpoint with a call that begins in seconds. Calls are connected under Maxicare's verified and branded profile, so members can be confident the call is genuinely from their provider. 

For hospitals, clinics, and HMOs across the country, the rollout offers a working example of a shift already underway. Patients increasingly expect to reach healthcare through the convenient apps they use for everything else, and providers that meet them there are finding shorter queues, faster first contact, and fewer abandoned calls. Once a provider is present on a channel like Viber, the same infrastructure can support appointment reminders, test result notifications, prescription renewals, and follow up care. 

Healthcare support is no longer something patients must seek out, it is arriving where they already are, in the channels they already use, and at the moment they need it. That is the outcome this collaboration between Infobip, Maxicare, and Rakuten Viber is delivering today in the Philippines.
